At the University of Kansas, students in the beginning research and writing course learn not only to craft news stories and press releases but also to shoot and edit video and create radio spots. At the University of Florida, advanced journalism students write text stories, make Web animations and photo galleries, capture and edit audio and video files, and create searchable online databases.
